TOLES Examinations Terms & Conditions

TOLES ADVANCED EXAMINATION
1. Currently Registered Exam Centres (the centre) may hold the TOLES Advanced exam “on request” in accordance with these procedures. Global Legal English Ltd (GLE) reserves the right to introduce fixed exam dates at any time.
2. The centre must provide GLE with a minimum of 8 weeks’ notice of a proposed exam date together with the number and names of the candidates.
3. A minimum of 10 candidates is required for each examination held at the centre.
4. GLE will send the exam papers to the centre so that they arrive a few days prior to the exam date.
5. The centre must confirm receipt of the exam papers by fax or e-mail.
6. The centre must keep the papers in a secure place with restricted access.
7. The examination papers are in a sealed envelope. This must not be opened until 15 minutes before the start of the examination.
8. The centre is responsible for invigilating the exam in accordance with the conditions of registration.
9. The centre must undertake that it has not copied or retained any exam papers.
10. The centre must return both completed and unused exam papers to GLE the day after the examination by a means of secure delivery (e.g. courier, registered post).
11. GLE will confirm receipt of the exam papers by fax or e-mail.
12. GLE will mark the papers and provide the centre with the results and certificates 8 weeks after the date of the exam.
13. The centre must confirm receipt of the certificates by fax or e-mail.
14. The centre is responsible for distributing the certificates to the individual candidates
15. The exam fee of GBP95.00 per candidate is payable by the centre to GLE. GLE reserves the right to increase the exam fee at any time.
16. The exam fee charged by the centre to candidates is set at the centre’s discretion.
17. An invoice for the exam fees is sent to the centre with the exam papers and is due for payment within 7 days of the exam date. GLE will not release candidates’ results or send candidates’ certificates to the centre until payment has been received.

TOLES HIGHER EXAMINATION
1. The exam may only be held on fixed examination dates. The exam dates are available from GLE.
2. The centre must provide GLE with a minimum of 4 weeks’ notice that an exam will be held on the relevant date, together with the number and names of the candidates.
3. GLE will send the exam papers, audio CD and USB to the centre so that they arrive a few days prior to the exam date.
4. The centre must confirm receipt of the CD/exam papers by e-mail.
5. The centre must keep the CD/exam papers in a secure place with restricted access.
6. The CD/examination papers are in a sealed envelope which must not be opened until 15 minutes before the start of the examination.
7. The centre is responsible for invigilating the exam in accordance with the conditions of registration.
8. The centre must undertake that they have not copied or retained any exam papers or the CD.
9. The centre must return the CD, USB and both completed and unused exam papers to GLE the day after the examination by a means of secure delivery (e.g. courier, registered post).
10. GLE will confirm receipt of the CD/exam papers by e-mail.
11. GLE will mark the papers and provide the centre with the results and certificates (8 weeks after the date of the exam).
12. The centre must confirm receipt of the certificates by fax or e-mail.
13. The centre is responsible for distributing the certificates to the individual candidates.
14. The exam fee of GBP75.00 per candidate is payable by the centre to GLE. GLE reserves the right to increase the exam fee at any time.
15. The exam fee charged by the centre to candidates is set at the centre’s discretion
16. An invoice for the exam fees is sent to the centre with the exam papers and is due for payment within 7 days of the exam date. GLE will not release candidates’ results or send candidates’ certificates to the centre until payment has been received.

TOLES FOUNDATION EXAMINATION
1. The exam may only be held on fixed examination dates. The exam dates are available from GLE.

Data Protection and Confidential Information statement

Both the TOLES examination centre and Global Legal English Limited agree to comply in full with relevant EU and UK data protection law in force during the term of this agreement in relation to the processing of personal data. This applies to the data held on record of Global Legal English Limited, the TOLES examination centre and all TOLES examination candidates.

The TOLES examination centre and Global Legal English Limited agree to ensure that all personal data stored in relation to this agreement is held in a secure location and any personal data held on any computer is password protected. Both the TOLES examination centre and Global Legal English Limited agree not to use data in any way that would amount to a breach of EU and/or UK data protection law.

Confidential information means information clearly identified as such or which is obviously confidential by its nature, relating to materials or services under this agreement between Global Legal English Limited and the TOLES examination centre. The TOLES examination centre agrees not to use confidential information for its own purposes or disclose it to any third party except as needed for carrying out its obligations as an examination centre. This does not cover information already in the public domain, information the TOLES examination entre has to disclose by law and information the TOLES examination centre can prove it possessed before it was received from Global Legal English Limited in relation to this agreement.
